2022 Women's Retreat

Jan 28-29 at San Damiano in White Post, VA

"We Rejoice in Our Sufferings:

Learning from the witness of the African Church"

Why is it that those who have experienced tremendous suffering can also carry with them great depths of joy? What are some of the reasons for resiliency of faith seen in those who have walked through great pain but still wholeheartedly affirm the goodness of God? During this intensive we will get to know a community of inspiring Christians living in extreme poverty in Nairobi, Kenya. We will learn from their resilient faith and personal experience of God’s presence. We hope each of us will leave filled with hope in the power of God’s presence in the midst of human suffering.

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope…” (Rom. 5:3–4)

Why Community Groups?

Getting and staying connected to people can be the difference between attending a church and finding a community where you can know others and be known by them; between a church and my church. Community groups at Grace Anglican are at the heart of how we help each other become disciples of Jesus, mature as disciples, and then live as and make disciples in the world.

koinonia -- Greek word for "fellowship"

Groups of women meeting for Christ-centered conversation in-person, and outdoors (weather-permitting).  You are welcome to drop in anytime -- it's not an ongoing study. This spring we are using discussion questions from Liturgy of the Ordinary by Tish Harrison Warren, but you don't have to have read the book before you come. We'd love to see you!

Every other Friday morning in Winchester
9:30-11:00am -- Contact Jane Eboch

Every other Saturday morning in Stephens City

9:00-10:30am -- Contact Sara Lombardy

Every Saturday morning in Berryville (walking group)
9:00am -- Contact Joan Dowell

A fun time was had by all on the River!

We're taking a break from events for the rest of the summer, and look forward to seeing you in the Fall. If you'd like to host an event or be part of the Women's Ministry Team, let us know.

Women's Ministry

Better, A Study of Hebrews
by Jen Wilkin
Tuesdays 7-9pm beginning January 12th
via Zoom

Jesus is better.

In this 10-session, verse-by-verse study of the Book of Hebrews, Jen Wilkin explores how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Heb. 11:40).Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise. Explore familiar verses in context of the entire Bible, learning how to place your hope and faith in Christ alone.

Join us weekly via Zoom for this study led by Jennifer Albertson, our Director of Christian Ed.

All women are welcome, so feel free to invite friends!

We pray the Lord will encourage and strengthen you in this season as you pursue Him in the Word and in fellowship with sisters in Christ.

With love in Christ,
Your Women's Ministry Team

Bible Study via Zoom:

A Woman's Heart -

God's Dwelling Place

Tuesdays 7-9pm beginning Sept. 22 via Zoom

It was while the Israelites roamed the wilderness that God had them build a tabernacle, in order that He Himself might come and dwell with them. This strange time of the COVID pandemic has put each of us in a wilderness-like experience where we face uncertainty, change and anxiety. We each desperately need God Himself to come and tabernacle with us.

If you're looking for a way to be accountable in the Word, to grow in your knowledge of who God is, and to get to know other women who are following Him, we invite you to join this study of the tabernacle and God's presence with us, led by Jennifer Albertson, our Director of Christian Ed.  All women are welcome, so feel free to invite friends!

Koinonia Groups: Women meeting outdoors for fellowship

Koinonia - Greek word for "fellowship"
(pronounced koi-no-nee-uh)

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."  ~Acts 2:42

Koinonia Groups
are small groups of women (6 at the most) gathering to have Christ-centered conversation prompted by pre-planned questions. They will meet in-person, outdoors at a park, using the same guidelines we use for our outdoor Sunday services. Each group has a hostess and occurs regularly in September and October. Details for each Koinonia Group are listed below. They are open to all women outside of our church as well, so feel free to invite friends!
