Financial Questions
Here's the latest financial update on our parking lot expansion campaign as of 12.27.25:
- In November, we began with a parking nest egg of $77,741 (made up of $45,827 already graciously given by parishioners and $31,914 moved into the parking fund from other existing funds).
- Since then, you have given an additional $46,717 to help us expand our lot!
- Total monies on hand for the project: $124,458 (55% of the project cost!)
- Total estimated project cost: $226,000
- Remaining Funds needed: $101,542
How will this impact the general operating budget?
We anticipate that donors to this capital project will not reduce their established operating budget giving.
May I contribute by donating securities?
Yes. Contact our treasurer, Mr. Larry Swartz for help with this.
How do I contribute? Two ways:
A) Give to the general fund and all giving that raises our reserves ABOVE 2 months expenses will be saved for Parking Expansion until it is funded.
B) Designate “Designated Projects (Building)" on your check or online.
How long after we receive the funds can we begin construction?
Once we receive enough funding, we will solicit bids, assess bidders, and meet with them. We won't be able to do the expansion in winter. The earliest we could start would be spring 2026.
What will happen if more funds than are necessary come in?
Surplus funds will roll over into the larger building fund.
Practical Questions
How long will the project take?
We believe that the project can be completed between two Sundays. We’ll update this estimate as we finalize its construction.
Will the project disrupt Sunday parking?
We hope not! However, each bidder will have their own timeline and we may have some interruption if the project takes more than 6 days. If this is the case, our current thinking is to engage a shuttle service to transport people between the church and the Waterloo Park and Ride, just a few miles up the road. We are investigating this option now.
How many new spaces will the project provide?
The project will provide approximately twenty-five new spaces.
Will there still be handicapped spaces?
Yes.
Will this project be completed before Christmas, 2026?
This is our hope. We believe it can be.
